A golf simulator. Foosball table. Shuffleboard. Pinball machine. Sounds like your typical game room, right? At The ERC, these are the perks of working at a modernized plastic prototyping shop. For our dynamic team, letting loose is part of the creative process.
After months of hard work, the Engineering Resource Center is finally ready to give an exclusive look at its brand new Da Vinci Innovation Room. The Da Vinci Innovation Room was conceived as a place for employees & visitors to relax, unwind and come up with new, innovative ideas. The new addition encompasses a collaborative meeting space, golf simulator and an assortment of classic games. What better way to inspire creativity among engineers?
The idea for a collaborative space sprung earlier this year after the installment of a golf simulator in the shop. This sparked the idea of building a fun, collaborative space to encourage creativity during our brainstorming sessions. As the room build kicked off this spring, ERC's owner Ryan expressed his vision for the new space:
The collaborative corner of the room is (almost) complete with a conference table, sleek glassboard, dry bar with a mini fridge for refreshments and additional space for our future 3D printer.
On the fun side of things, our shuffleboard and foosball tables have already gotten some friendly competitions going. The vintage TAXI pinball machine currently holds high score as a favorite.
When you work hard, you can play hard. Schedule a tour to stop in and chat about your projects and see the new Da Vinci Innovation room in person. What game would you most like to try your hand at during a visit? Leave a comment to let us know!
